It started with Triumph's comeback in 1990. Then Royal Enfield followed up in 2013 with the Continental GT model, and in 2021 came BSA on the track with the retro classic Gold Star 650. This year, BSA offers a total of 4 models, and thus the motorcycle brand that at the beginning of the 1950s was the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer, is definitely on the offensive.

This year's models from BSA must really be said to be exciting. In addition to the Gold Star, the three models offered are the Bantam 350, Scrambler 650 and Thunderbolt, the latter of which is new this year. The model names are taken from the classic era, and not without reason, because BSA was the largest of the British motorcycle manufacturers in the decades after World War II.

It is interesting to see that the smaller models with a displacement of 350-650 cubic centimeters are "up and coming", and perhaps we are seeing a new trend. A motorcycle does not need to have 200 hp and a top speed of 300 km/h. The joy of driving on winding roads or in the open countryside works well at legal speeds, and then a mid-range engine of around 45 hp can do the job just fine. Many who want a motorcycle do not want to spend a lot of cash, they do not work themselves, and therefore would like to have a new motorcycle with a guarantee. It is the riding experience itself that is in focus.

That is precisely why BSA Bantam is perfect for the purpose. The starting price of NOK 59,900 is very nice, and with a 5-year warranty, without km limitation, it provides peace of mind for owners. As mentioned, Bantam plays on BSA's proud history, and is named after one of the brand's biggest volume sellers, the Bantam D1 which came out in 1948.

BSA The Scramber 650 was launched in 2025, and as the name suggests, this is the bike for those who like a bit of rough riding. The engine is the same as in the Gold Star, the 652 cc single-cylinder 4-stroke, which delivers 45 hp at 6500 rpm.

The BSA Scrambler 650 was launched in 2025, and as the name suggests, this is the bike for those who like a slightly rugged style. The engine is the same as in the Gold Star, the 1-cylinder 4-stroke 652 cc engine, which delivers 45 hp at 6,500 rpm.

For those looking for a bike that enters the adventure segment, BSA offers the newcomer Thunderbolt, also a model name with historical traditions. Packed with modern technology, and with a price tag of 69,900,- it seems to be a lot of bike for the money.

Morten Gjestad at BSA importer Erling Sande AS says they are receiving 40 copies of BSA Bantam, and confirms "that there is already great interest in the model". There are many indications that we will see BSA their models "live" at MC-MESSA next weekend, more specifically at the stand of Erling Sande AS which you will find in Hall D - D02-10. BSA was once the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles, and they are now definitely back in business.
