Hallgeir Muren

I got my first motorcycle when I was 13, an old NSU 350 from 1937. Since then it has literally been a long, exciting and interesting journey on 2 and 3 wheels at home and abroad. I have owned several motorcycles, both with and without sidecars, manufactured on several continents, bikes that have mainly been veterans and classics. Today I enjoy the rides on a relatively rebuilt Harley-Davidson Softail 1340 from 1990.

In 1997, I gathered experience from my years in the garage restoring old motorcycles, and published the booklet "Classic Guide". Here you will find tips and advice if you are going to buy a motorcycle, as well as reviews with technical data of a number of classic motorcycles. In 2000, I joined the editorial staff of Norsk Motorveteran, as a permanent writer on the motorcycle page, and I am still involved here and publish articles about old motorcycles in each issue.

In 2004 the time was ripe to write a book, and in October of this year I published the book "Classic motorcycles & scooters in Norway" by TankeStreken forlag. It is leather-bound, 204 pages long, and covers 54 classics, from the oldest model, a Henderson from 1929, to the newest, a Kawasaki Z1300Dfi from 1984. All models are richly illustrated with color photos, reviews, and technical data.
