Bare dager før vi snur kalender til 2026 kan vi konstaterer at Yamahas 1996-modeller straks trer inn i veteranenes rekker. Dette året tilbød Yamaha hele 23 modeller, fra den minste 50-kubikkeren BW50S, til tungvekteren Royal Star som hadde en prislapp på ganske nøyaktig en kvart million. Slagordet i modellkatalogen for 1996 lød slik: "The power to satisfy". Og med råskinnet Thunderace, og den brutale customen V-Max fikk publikum power i bøtter og spann.
