Tempo Cross Model 16, 1965 model
After visiting a number of great motorcycle museums at home and abroad, it was time to visit our own vehicle history museum at Hunderfossen to see the motorcycle and moped collection. It was a great trip, and a visit to the museum is highly recommended.
The focus of the visit was mainly on motorized 2- and 3-wheelers, and after a thorough tour of the exhibition we can conclude the following; finally the nation can boast a national museum with a motorcycle exhibition that is second to none. About time, some would say, because the closest we came to a national arena for motorcycles previously was the Norwegian Technical Museum in Oslo, and there was certainly not much to brag about when it came to the collection of old motorcycles.

The museum at Hunderfossen is modern, spacious and well lit. The range of moped and motorcycle models is large. The posters with information about each model have the right amount of text, and the objects are placed in a historical context of transportation. The collection naturally contains some Tempo , and that was all that was missing, but it would have been fun if the museum had taken the initiative and established a separate department just for Tempo . We deserve that in light of the brand's importance to Norwegian transportation and industrial history.

Tempo Standard 20, 1954 model.
Norwegians can be proud of Tempo with good reason, and we need not go further than Birmingham in England, where the pride of the nation "The National Motorcycle Museum" was established to honor its own motorcycle industry. So some might argue that the English motorcycle industry was large and extensive compared to Tempo , which cannot be denied. Regardless, Tempo deserved a national museum or a separate department at the museum at Hunderfossen. Here are some of the highlights on 2 wheels, and a visit is definitely recommended.
