I'm hardly exaggerating when I say that Arne Bjørn Hoel is not only a legend in the Norwegian veteran motorcycle community, but one of the great "chieftains" in the Norwegian Indian community.

At the age of 74, he can look back on many major events that he has helped organize for the enjoyment of motorcycle enthusiasts from home and abroad. The upcoming "happening" where Arne Bjørn has more than a finger in the game is the " Indian Summer Meet" which will take place at Hunderfossen 14-17 August.

NVMC and Norsk Indian Klubb

Arne Bjørn helped establish Norsk Veteran Motorsykkel Club (NVMC) in 1974, and together with Stein Fossheim he started Norsk Indian Klubb in 2003. Together with enthusiasts in both the NVMC, and last but not least in Indian club, he has fronted the veteran motorcycle community at countless motorcycle fairs, exhibitions, meetups and swap meets.

For Arne Bjørn, the Indian became his favorite, and the Chief has followed him since 1979. In addition to the Chief and a Power Plus with sidecar, he has owned a number of other Indian models, and other vintage mopeds and motorcycles such as Honda CB750Four, Honda CB92 Super Sport, Honda Black Bomber 450, Sarolea 500 Super Sport, Tempo Corvette 290, and Triumph 3HW 350. His interest is broad, although there is little doubt that the redskins from Springfield, Massachusetts are closest to his heart. So we'll see what he chooses when the trip to Hunderfossen is scheduled for the weekend.
