Lisa's customized Sportster

"It was the sound that made me buy a Harley-Davidson ," says Lisa Giovannini, pointing to the Sportster and smiling. The somewhat modified Harley is used extensively, and in the summer heat Lisa enjoys her days in the saddle on the custom she built.

Lisa, who lives in Oslo, bought the bike new at Alnabru in 2001, and the Sportster was her debut as a motorcyclist. Settling down with an original Harley-Davidson painted yellow was not for her. Thus began a long and ongoing process of putting her personal touch on the bike, something Lisa has succeeded in doing very well.

The bike has a tough look, almost a bit classic, because with the "chopped" rear fender and whiteside tires, a line is drawn back in time. The low handlebars with the mirrors mounted on the underside give a touch of racing. The exhaust pipe as well. The gas tank is painted in black and white, with the symbolism of Yin and Yang, and both the front and rear fenders have been given a motif paint.

Sissy bar and skid plate hanging under the engine are typical details from the chopper culture. Lisa is happy with the bike, but that doesn't mean she's "at the finish line" so to speak. New ideas turn into new details, and the supply of custom parts for Harley-Davidson is, as is well known, inexhaustible. She gets her inspiration from her club friends in the motorcycle club "Drottningr Østlandet". They only number 7, but are very close-knit, and not least good at inspiring each other when it comes to making a mark on their motorcycles, just like Lisa has done with her Sportster 883.
