Honda -Hansen's CB750 Police

Police motorcycles with all the “police options” that work and that are in civilian ownership, yes, it is a rare sight on Norwegian roads. Knut Hugo Hansen, also known as “ Honda -Hansen” among Honda enthusiasts, is the exception. With his Honda CB750 Police, rough riders can probably be scared when he appears in the gossip mirror. At least until they see that it is not of a recent vintage and that Knut Hugo is not wearing a uniform. If we turn back time to the 1970s, however, several people were surprised when the Honda appeared in the rearview mirror with siren and blue lights.

Traffic Corps and UP. Police motorcycles in Norway are mainly used by the Oslo Traffic Police and the Emergency Police. Most of us are probably used to our uniformed (un)friends monitoring traffic from the saddle of a BMW .

However, in 1973 the authorities bought a couple of bikes from Japanese motorcycle manufacturers for testing, specifically a Suzuki GT 750 and a Honda CB750 Four. The Honda was used by the police in Drammen, and was still seen on the roads in several of the counties west of the Oslo Fjord. The Suzuki's whereabouts today are unknown!

When the Honda was phased out of the police service, it was sold to the Norwegian Motor Vehicle Authority in Lillestrøm. Here it was used for training and training on motorcycles. In 1988, the bike was sold on, and its time as a service vehicle in the public sector was now over.

The bike eventually ended up with Honda guru Knut Hugo Hansen in Oslo. It was in good condition, but some of the “police options” were missing, which helped give the bike a civilian feel. However, Knut-Hugo wanted it differently, he wanted a full-fledged “Police”, and that’s how it was.

But, it wasn't easy at all because the whole world had to be brought together to get the bike complete. The rear roll bars come from Brazil and the speedometer, which also functions as a speedometer, comes from Australia.

The icing on the cake was the siren and blue lights. So now he just has to remember not to press the buttons when he's out on the road and gets overtaken by speeding Norwegians, because it could be expensive, for Knut Hugo that is!
