From the Archives: Yamaha 100 LS2

"It's a better machine," Yamaha wrote in the sales brochure for the 100cc LS2.

What more could a 16-year-old dream of? The Yamaha with its 2-cylinder 2-stroke and 2 exhausts was "big" for a 16-year-old in the 70s. Most 100cc bikes only had 1 cylinder and an exhaust.

Thus, the LS2 became the "king of the bunch" among the lightweights, and the same applied to the very few selected owners, because it cost a little more than its competitors with the same displacement.
