AMCAR/ReFuel; also for the motorcycle movement

AMCAR/Refuel has acquired a significant position in the motoring community, and that is a good thing. We need a professional organization that negotiates good discount agreements, whether it is about insurance or spare parts. Perhaps even more important is the dialogue with the authorities.

In matters concerning imports, conversions of cars and motorcycles, and technical issues, the organization has knowledge and expertise that is listened to, which is very important for the interests of the members. In a time characterized by climate and environmental issues, there are many other challenges that also arise and that must be handled. When AMCAR opened up for car clubs to apply for membership, and established the magazine ReFuel, the membership increased, and AMCAR as an organization became stronger. The case of 98-octane and ethanol is concrete proof of the challenges we face. We won it, largely thanks to AMCAR/ReFuel.

What about the motorcycle movement? Is there room for it in AMCAR/ReFuel? I struck up a conversation with Asbjørn Johansen, and learned that "Yes, we have a good offer for motorcycle enthusiasts" as he said. Johansen was able to tell us that among AMCAR's approximately 34,000 members, over 11,500 of them ride motorcycles in addition to enthusiast cars. That is a significant number, and these can of course join the movement. Motorcycle clubs can, like car clubs, apply to join. AMCAR has, among other things, good insurance offers for motorcycles, and not least "Roadside Assistance" when stopped on the road. As a member of AMCAR/ReFuel, you have this help behind you, both in Norway and in Europe, and it is without any special privileges.

The insurance offer for MC:

  • 30 years and older motorbikes NOK 653 per year with full insurance with a value of motorbike up to NOK 300,000
  • 30 years and older moped NOK 299 per year
  • Motorcycles older than 1963 model NOK 450 per year with a value of motorcycle up to NOK 300,000
  • Rebuilt/Custom motorbike NOK 2727,- per year with value of motorbike up to NOK 300.00,-
  • Motorcycle values can be increased above NOK 300,000 with a surcharge.

To further the interests of the motorcycle movement, AMCAR has hired Rolf-Kåre Valderhaug as a motorcycle consultant. Valderhaug, with his knowledge of motorcycles, whether street motorcycles or motorsport, will be an important resource for us on 2 wheels. So all that remains is to encourage the motorcycle clubs to apply for membership in AMCAR/ReFuel. It will be a typical "win-win" situation. Unity, as is known, gives strength, and the membership benefits are many, as mentioned.
