Few, if any, events in the motorcycle world have generated as much attention as Honda 's booth at the Tokyo Motor Show in the fall of 1968. That's when they dropped the bomb: the Honda CB750 Four.

  • 1969 marked a watershed in the understanding and idea of what a modern motorcycle should be, defined by Honda with the CB750Four

Honda CB750Four was the motorcycle that had it all and then some, featured in countless magazines, and is undoubtedly the ancestor of the modern superbike. The CB750 was shown to the press and public at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 1968, and went on sale in 1969. It was produced in 3 different versions over a 10-year period; the CB750Four, the Hondamatic 750, and the CB750Four Super Sport. In 1979 it was time to celebrate the model's 10th anniversary with the CB750LTD. It marked a commercial success that has become a central part of the history of motorcycles. At the same time, it showed that Honda had taken a new step in development with the new DOHC engine, a modernized inline-four that pointed forward to the new 10 years that were just around the corner.
