DKW RT250/2

DKW1955

DKW was established by the Dane Jon Skafte Rasmussen, and made its first motorcycle in 1921. The factory, which was located in Zschopau, later renamed Karl Marx Stadt, enjoyed great success with its small and medium-sized 2-strokes.

The DKW model range was extensive, from the small 98cc single-cylinder to the large 2-cylinder 2-stroke SB500. DKW RT250/2 was launched in 1952, and in racing version it performed well in the "Internationale Six-Days Trials".

The design of the RT250/2 inspired BSA when they developed the Bantam series, and the model gained great popularity due to its great design, reliable engine and good handling.
