The Lady at Dunstallen

Kristin Engvall with her Paul Dunstall- Commando 750, 1972 model
Kristin Engvall Halvorsen from Moss bought her dream bike, a Norton Commando with Dunstall kit in 2013. The bike gives Kristin the right feeling, because as she says: “When you ride a motorcycle like this, it feels like you are sitting right on the engine, and just whizzing away, a bit like Burt Munro says in the movie The World's Fastest Indian that You live more in 5 minutes on a bike like this going flat out than some people live in their lifetime”.

There have been a few short trips, and some longer trips on the Commando. For example, to Folldal and a longer trip with the family to the Netherlands, and on to London to go to the Ace Cafe. The bike ran the whole way, with only temporary starting problems the one day it had rained and there was some moisture on the ignition system.

For Kristin, the Dunstall Commando is the dream bike. "I don't have to go flat out to feel it either. For me it's never been about attention, that's not why I wanted it. I actually didn't know that so many people would gather around when I started it, I just knew that a dream had become a reality," she says, smiling broadly.
